This explains what Nigel holds about you in the Night & Day app, why he holds it, and what you can ask him to do with it. It is written to be read rather than to look thorough.

Who is responsible

Nigel Calland, trading as Night & Day, London. He is the data controller, which means he decides what is held and why. You can reach him at hello@nigelcalland.com.

What is held

What is not held

No card or bank details. Payment is arranged directly with Nigel and never passes through this app. No tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in.

Why it is held

Who else sees it

Nigel sees it. Beyond him, only the services that run the app: Vercel, which hosts it, and Neon, which stores the database in the United Kingdom. If reminder emails are switched on, Resend sends them. None of these use your information for their own purposes.

Your Recovery Score and the description you picked are part of what he sees as your coach. They show on your client page in the app, alongside your goal and your sessions, because that is the point of them. They are not used to advertise to you, and they are not passed to anyone else.

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else without asking you first.

How long it is kept

While you are a client, and then for as long as the records are needed. If you close your account, your name, email, phone number and goal are removed straight away and your messages are emptied. The dates of sessions that took place stay, with your name taken off them, because Nigel needs them for his own tax and business records.

Your Recovery Score and the description you picked are kept while you are a client, so that a score from a year ago can be compared with one from today and you can both see what has changed. They are removed when you close your account. If you would rather they went sooner than that, ask him and he will take them off.

What you can ask for

If you are not happy with how a request was handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Keeping it safe

Passwords are stored scrambled and cannot be read, by Nigel or anyone else. Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Access is limited to Nigel’s own account.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, you will be told in the app rather than left to notice it here.
